Request Documents

We offer a comprehensive document delivery service to registered Law Society of Alberta clients. Document delivery refers to the request and delivery of materials, regardless of format or whether our libraries own the materials, and includes photocopying and interlibrary loans.

Under our Access to the Law Policy, we will locate, borrow or photocopy, and deliver case reports, legislation, journal articles, historical documents, conference proceedings or other legal information.

How to Request

Please complete the Document Request Form and e-mail to LawLibrary@just.gov.ab.ca.
Attention Chrome users: This form will not work in Chrome unless you have disabled the plugin viewer. Right click to download the form to your desktop and submit.

Note: Adobe Reader or later is required to access the form. If you are having difficulties using the Document Request Form, please call us at 780.422.2342 (Edmonton) or 403.297.6148 (Calgary). Adobe Reader is available to download at no charge from Adobe.

Service Delivery time

Delivered next business day (available Monday to Friday, excluding holidays). Please note that large orders may require a longer turn around time. We will contact you if the time to complete your request may exceed one business day.

Service Fees

$0.50 per page
$5.00 service fee per order (maximum 5 documents)

Delivery Options

E-mail or pick up: No additional charge.

Clients are responsible for the arrangement and payment of courier deliveries.

Payment Options

Costs will be invoiced at the end of each month. Payment may be made by credit, debit or e-transfer.

Our copying service operates under the Access to the Law Policy.

We reserve the right to refuse to accept a document request if, in our judgment, fulfillment of the request would violate copyright law.
