The Board is seeking an individual residing in Alberta to join our Board and participate in establishing and supporting the strategic direction of ALL for a term of up to two (2) or three (3) years. Due to current Board membership and geographical representation, and with our commitment to broader representation, we are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who reside outside of Calgary. Note that board meetings are conducted virtually.
Following a review of current Board skills and attributes, we are actively seeking applicants who have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in:
Accounting/Financial Experience
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in accounting or financial management, including analyzing and interpreting financial statements, evaluating organizational budgets, understanding financial reporting, and business development. A CPA designation is an asset.
- A clear understanding of the distinction between the role of the board versus the role of management
- Business/management experience, including risk management
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Being open to new and different ideas and approaches.
- A commitment and interest in Alberta Law Libraries (ALL)
